As climate change accelerates extreme weather in Punjab, floods are becoming more frequent and severe. Vatrukh Foundation’s Climate Resilience & Disaster Response programme moves beyond emergency relief—linking immediate response with long-term climate adaptation and community preparedness.
We use disaster response as an entry point to strengthen local resilience. Our approach integrates emergency support with recovery planning, climate-linked health protection, and resilient access to water, shelter, and essential services—ensuring communities are better prepared for future climate shocks
During the 2025 Punjab floods, Vatrukh Foundation:
Delivered emergency relief including dry rations, clean drinking water, medicines, sanitary supplies, and essential clothing.
Partnered with Panjab University to mobilise large-scale collection drives and volunteer networks.
Reached flood-affected families across Amritsar ,Ramdass, and surrounding villages.
Supported recovery through home construction and installation of clean drinking water filters.
By grounding climate adaptation in real-time response, Vatrukh Foundation works to ensure that communities not only recover from disasters—but build the resilience needed to face those ahead.
